MinishoterRS is a horizontal shooter by Peposoft which features multiple ships to choose from, each with it's own strengths and weaknesses in combat. Hold or tap the Z key rapidly to alternate between your ship's primary and secondary weapons. Use the X key to activate a temporary speed boost, handy for dodging bullets or reaching a certain spot on screen quickly. Press the F2 function key to cancel a selection or exit a game in progress at any time.

This release boasts more than ten stages, with different routes to undertake and end level bosses to defeat. Press the Alt and enter key to switch between full screen and windowed mode, or use the Q, W and E keys for the same effect. Additional omake bonuses are unlocked when you have beaten the game and fulfilled certain conditions.

When i press alt and enter nothing happens it stays a tiny little screen...
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 06:31:00 AM:
ditto. no full screen here either. which sucks on a 1920 resolution.

other than that, this game rules hard!
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 06:35:00 AM:
Oh well , not worth playing it at the size of a tiny thumbnail lol
Blogger Tim said at 12/20/2007 06:39:00 AM:
The zip file includes a readme.txt file - all keys with mapped functions are stated there. You could fiddle with it and see if that works.

Does anybody know how to contact these fellas? My japanese aint too good.

The fullscreen switch didn't work for me either, but the readme also shows that the Q, W, and E keys will enable 1X, 2X, and 3X windowed sizes. 3X is plenty big enough to play on my screen.

Full Screen doesn't work for me either... It's as if the key combination isn't even registered...
Blogger Lim-Dul said at 12/20/2007 10:27:00 AM:
Well - the full screen mode doesn't work for me no matter the resolution and refresh rate settings.

Like I've said before it's as if the keystroke isn't recognized - all I get is the "nothing to do with this key combination bell" sound. =)

I've tried it on three different computers - on my personal computer running Vista, on a laptop running Vista as well and an old desktop computer running Win2K with a resolution of 1024x768 @ 75 Hz.

Of course I played the game scaling it to x3 with "E" but I wanted to see what the full-screen mode looks like. =)
Blogger Lim-Dul said at 12/20/2007 10:28:00 AM:
ok, I just thought of this. In fullscreen mode, the game runs at a resolution of 640 x 480. If your display card doesn't support that resolution, then you're out of luck guys...

Ah! Indeed! That might be it! I guess it has more to do with your monitor than your graphics card. Do you have a CRT monitor like the old-schooler you are, Tim? =)
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 10:31:00 AM:
Wow this game is supergreat! Finally a descent nonvector shmup, it's been awhile.

Fullscreen wont work for me neither btw.

OK - your theory has been proven to be wrong after all. Just checked that my old 1 GHz P4 desktop computer or rather its tiny 15" LCD monitor can handle a resolution of 640x480 but the game still refuses to switch to full screen. =)

P.S. Enough about resolutions - the game is great. :-D

ok, it's an MMF2 application - so I think you guys have to consult the MMF experts on this.

Try to modify this setting as well. I'm using an LCD monitor, by the way.

I'm off to bed now, got to go to work extremely early tomorrow - I'll have another look again by then but hopefully someone can confirm that I'm not kooky or anything. :)

Erm... what's that chain of bosses i got right after asteroid level? First time I went to crystal level right after that. But next try I smashed into the white cat among asteroids and got a buch of pissed off anime cats trying to kill. WTF?

are you sure the X key only give you a boost? it seems like I kill bosses much faster when I hold it.

Also how do you reach alternate stages? I always go 1 - 2a - 3a - 4b...
Blogger miyamoto-SAN said at 12/20/2007 03:59:00 PM:
I think he's in the Malaysian time zone, I forget what that is just now. If it's anything like the Indonesian time zone though, it's about 10 hours off from eastern standard time.

I have a CRT 21" monitor (70 pounds heavy) and it works in full screen for me.
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 04:46:00 PM:
What in the hell is with that final un-numbered stage!? After an insane tunnel charge, you're faced with more bosses with more forms than probably the entire rest of the game.

Oddly I actually went 1-6 with A route, then 7-8 on B, no idea what decided that. I kept up my combo all the way to my death, which was fun. Dammit though, how the hell am I supposed to finish this level?
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 05:03:00 PM:
This is wonderful, but the random two unicode characters showing up in the middle of the screen and the lack of being functional full-screen mode is almost ruining the experience :(
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/20/2007 05:08:00 PM:
Playing around a little more, looks like I can't fight the final final boss yet. Maybe I have to unlock the rest of the levels first?

The small box next to the letter of the stage your in indicates what next stage you're headed to; Red for A and Blue for B. No idea what the different triggers are, except to get to 4-B seems to be triggering when I blow up the boss at the moment, and to get to 6-B I think it might have something to do with blowing up the fireballs (When there's a mass of those and no enemies to kill the indicator seems to switch over.

Also, I wish I understood japanese.
Blogger oranda said at 12/20/2007 06:28:00 PM:
What do you want to read, Xander? I probably won't finish the game due to time constraints, but anything in the menus etc. that you'd like translated just let me know.
Blogger Dan Lower said at 12/21/2007 12:09:00 AM:
This game is gorgeous and plays fairly well. My only complaint is that the music comes out somewhat distorted in my speakers.
Blogger Dan Lower said at 12/21/2007 12:10:00 AM:
Correction, it comes out distorted in both my laptop speakers and my "good" speakers--in other words it's something between the game and my soundcard or something in the game.

But again, other than that it's pretty awesome. I have only one ship left to unlock.
Blogger Unknown said at 12/21/2007 12:49:00 AM:
I think, the music is "pixelated" as much as graphics :)
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 03:33:00 AM:
Heh, it was nothing really, there's a message that pops up before the final bosses arrive but I guess it basically just says 'Eat Electric Death'. And I found a question mark in a ball that said something to me that I have no idea about, but now I think it unlocked a ping-pong mini-game which I have no idea to play.

Thanks for the offer though!

Brilliantly brilliant and for some reason reminded me of Project-X... Go figure...
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 06:48:00 AM:
Man, level 3B is so awesome!
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 04:27:00 PM:
To choose stage A you have to go to the top of the screen, otherwise to choose stage B you have to go to the bottom, or viceversa... That's what I think... anyway I'll try to translate the readme when I get home...
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 04:36:00 PM:
Probably I was wrong... And the readme doesn't say anything about how to choose a route...
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 04:40:00 PM:
D.J. Lower: It's because the music files are made with pttone (or PX Tone, whatever), so it would come out distorted unless you changed your sound card to turn off sound acceleration. It's most likely the same like with Cave Story.~

By the way, does anyone have a clue where to get the ship left of the ghost cat?
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/21/2007 04:50:00 PM:
I got it, maybe! ;) Some levels are "special": you can unlock it only by doing something particular. For example (hoping not to spoil anything...) to reach level 2-B I think you shouldn't shoot the white cute faces during stage 1-A (the ones which look like this (^v^))!
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/22/2007 03:18:00 AM:
what futoshi said. I got to 2B by not shooting anything on the first stage besides the boss. Man I love this game. It takes notes from all my favorite horizontel shooters (r-type, gradius, life force, parodius). Forget about crap like söldner-x, this is how you make a good shooter.
Anonymous Anonymous said at 12/22/2007 02:18:00 PM:
my method of getting fullscreen to work is by running it in a win2k virtual machine in linux, setting my resolution to 320x240, and then manually positioning the VM window so it's properly aligned.

I still have that annoying character in the middle of my screen though.

About the route selection, look at the spot near the letter A or B on the bottom of the screen: if it's red, then the next level will be an "A". If it's blue it'll be a "B". After particular events, that spot turns blue. This event varies from level to level. :)

For those of you wondering about a FIRST-EVER 1cc of MinishoterRS Delta on YouTube, look no more, because I have it right here, and you can see it through these links:

Part 1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9E5TCN6uCs
Part 2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeE6szXUy1k
Part 3http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VRN-ABDtnM

And I will tell you right now that my official final score after my 1cc of this game indeed is 367,176,990pts., 4,776-combo!!!

Hey, if it’s on YouTube, it is bound to make a little history, after all... sure beats the living hell out of Internet Ranking anytime!! ;) !

(TOTALLY mindblowing, yes? And how!!! ^-^=b )

Pretty awesome game.

Anyone have an idea how to get to 8-B?
